Videography
For a dream year, a gala honoring the universe of student-athletes who made the 2021/2022 season one of the best ever for university sport in Portugal. The occasion was used to pay tribute to all the medal winners at the European university games and championships and the world university championships, as well as the world university champions in futsal, beach volleyball and canoeing.
About the Project.
For those who work with sport on a daily basis, designing an image for a gala is a step out of the comfort zone. Besides that, bringing a theme to this event was one of the project's most interesting ideas.
The graphic basis of the event has been maintained. Same typography, with adjustments to the serifs, as well as a simplified and modernized version of the name and logo. The graphic elements of the event will be made annually according to the location, but always maintaining the basis of the visual identity. In this year, because of the venue's ceiling, which resembled stars, we envisioned university sport being outer space, sport being the galaxies and the athletes, of course, being the stars. This was the foundation of the visual identity.
Around this, the image was very much focused on black and gold, so that we had the elegance that the event called for. The graphic supports revolved around elements that sometimes seemed to be about astrology . With some heavy inspiration in David Bowie's Blackstar album design.
Trophy & Medal.
For each edition of this event, the trophies are renewed. The trophy for the best player of the year (athlete, coach and club) and the university club trophy, given to the club that scored the most points in the national university championships.

Videography.
For the first time I was able to work in collaboration with my brother Breno Barison. Given the time we had, I did the shooting and he did the editing. We shot three videos, one with each university world champion: Futsal, Beach Volleyball and Canoeing were the sports in which we won gold. The final product was shown during the ceremony.
