The European Universities Rugby 7’s Championship took place in Lisbon, at Estádio Universitário de Lisboa. The event gathered over 200 people. Athletes came from 9 Universities from 6 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.
About the Project.
For the first time I had the opportunity to work directly on the visual identity of an international event. In this case, FADU had full responsibility for the communication and image part.
The logo had already been defined when we started this project. We decided to explore it to the full, where this American style of event logo gives us many possibilities to do.
We opted for a rougher approach, something that would fit in well within the sport. The whole image revolved around the highlight of the logo, which is the two lines that shape a rugby ball.
Trophy & Medal.
For an event of this size, the trophies and medals had to have the same standard. We thought we'd do something different, using the two "swoosh" that the logo has to make a connection and keeping the visual similar.
