For the first time, I had the opportunity to work directly on the visual identity of a worldwide event organized by FISU. In this case, FADU had full responsibility for communication and image, including visual identity and photography. It was a privilege to have created the image for an event of this size and proportion.
About the Project.
The logo is based on the integration between the canoe and the castle of Montemor-o-Velho and the entire visual identity is built around blocks. The patterns were built to make the wave movement to be related to the river of the competition.

The lower section is made with soft curves that evoke the grace and agility of canoeing athletes, capturing the essence of the sport. The color palette used in the logo reflects the dynamic and refreshing waters. The upper part, made with blocks, symbolizes the strength of the local community, its historical heritage and the robust structure that supports the city.
Medal Design.
Symbolizing the 18th time a FISU competition has been organized by FADU,
the medal is shaped like a octadecagon. In keeping with the visual identity, with
geometric shapes and sharp angles. The blocks that make up the visual identity give focus to the event logo / FISU logo and help to distinguish the image of the medal.
Photography.

I've had the opportunity to cover some of the portuguese athletes in competition, as well as the other competitors. Here are some memorable shots.
