The launch of FADU's Esports division took place in April 2021, with the organization of the first National University Esports Championship - the eFADU Nationals 2020/2021.
We are now moving on to the latest edition of the eFADU Nationals 2022/2023, which marks a historic milestone in the world of university esports in Portugal. This year, for the first time, the competition took place in a live edition, at the Maia Municipal Tennis Complex, reflecting our continued commitment to expanding and improving the esports scene in the country. In addition to the intense competitions, this edition was packed with a wide range of activities, offering a complete and unforgettable gaming experience.
About the Project.
Creating a sister brand to FADU's was a complicated mission at first, until the moment I decided to explore the elements in the same way as the FADU logo was created. Bringing to the logo the very meaning of the strand, with the letters E and S standing for e-sports and following the same Gestault philosophy as the FADU logo, an open book, symbolizing the dual career.
But it wasn't until 2023 that I saw this project take shape, and from there I created visual elements so that the visual identity was complete. As well as trophies, medals and the chance to take photos of the whole event.
Trophy & Medal.
This being the first edition of the event, it was necessary to create the prizes given to the participants. The materials were asked to be the logo itself, a strategy to further build brand affinity.
Photography.
Here are my favorite photos from the competition days. It was a different experience to what I'm used to, as the athletes are always in the same position and very concentrated (similar to chess). The focus, as always, was on emotions and expressions.
